About Us

Edward Anton Sr. started Valley Refrigeration in 1937 and the company was based in Elmwood which was centrally located for service calls in the Cincinnati area. The Valley name came from Edwards policy that to provide the best service possible he wanted to stay local and not stray too far from the shop. Cincinnati was known as the "City of Seven Hills".

The hills form a crescent from the east bank of the Ohio River to the west bank: Mount Adams, Walnut Hills, Mount Auburn, Vine Street Hill, College Hill, Fairmount, and Mount Harrison. Valley’s service area was strictly inside of those 7 hills known as “The Valley” and never beyond.

Edward’s oldest son Eddie Jr. joined forces with his father after years of being in the service truck as dad’s helper in 1966 and began expanding the business. By 1974 Edward’s younger son Ken joined the family business with his father and older brother and continued to expand Valley’s service area to include Dayton. By the mid 80’s Valley was the #1 refrigeration service and install company in the Greater Cincinnati area with 12 fully stocked trucks offering 24/7 emergency service to the entire tri-state area and Dayton.

Sean Hulgin started working with Valley as a young man straight out of trade school in 1989 and Ken took Sean under his wing sharing his years of knowledge with Sean. Over the years Sean became a trusted friend and colleague to the Anton family as well as their lead technician. Sean expressed his desire to own his own company one day and by 2020 Ken decided he was ready to start inching toward the good life of retirement and offered Sean the opportunity to buy the company.

Sean bought Valley and has since expanded the services Valley provides beyond their historical focus on just refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning to now include servicing and installing commercial cooking equipment and exhaust hoods. Sean now runs Valley along with Valley’s other 25 employees that share the vision of being a true partner to our customers. Ken is still involved in the company and despite selling the company, still enjoys his passion of fixing it when its broken and providing the best customer service available. It wouldn’t be uncommon to have the current owner of the previous owner be the person that shows up to provide you with the best service available when you need it the most.

For Valley Commercial Services no job is too big or too small. We have done food service installations as big as Paul Brown Stadium, Jacks Casino, and Food Processing facilities such as Kaiser Pickle but as small as the pop cooler the corner gas station.
